It's almost summer! In a few weeks, our kids will be out of school and ready to soak up some sun. For the studio, that means it's time for creative summer projects!
This year I'm offering three really exciting options:
1. Art and Composing
Students who choose this project will have the opportunity to create a work of art (painting, poem, short story, animated video, etc.) and then compose and publish a piece of music inspired by their artwork.
2. Composing with Technology
Have a tech savvy kid? This will be an awesome chance for those students to explore music producing software. Students who choose this option will learn the ins and outs of using Garage Band to compose a original song with as many overlaying parts as they would like to try putting together!
3. Creating a Piano Game
This project was inspired by one of my students who made up a bunch of rules to one of our piano games and made it SO MUCH FUN! Students who participate in this project will create their very own piano game to share with the other students in the studio.
I was born into a family of musicians, and began studying piano with my father at age 4. Along the way, I’ve also studied cello and voice, and I’ve performed with many different ensembles and bands. I opened my mobile studio in the Pasadena, CA area in 2012. I have a passion for teaching preschoolers, pop, show tunes, and composing. When I’m not teaching, you’ll probably find me in the kitchen.
